Sushant Singh Rajput’s father lodges FIR against six persons

MUMBAI: Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh has filed an FIR in the Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna accusing six people, including Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, for abetment to suicide.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Chakraborty has admitted to being the late actor’s girlfriend in an open letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah while pleading for a CBI probe into the matter.

A police official of Rajiv Nagar police station said Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh registered FIR against six people, including Chakraborty, for abetment to suicide in his complaint (FIR number 241/20). The police are investigating the case, he added.

“Rhea Chakraborty and five other persons have been charged under Sections 340, 341, 380, 406, 420 and 306 of IPC after Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed an FIR against them. Further investigation is going on in the case,” Sanjay Kumar, IG, Patna Central Zone, informed the reporters.

Sushant’s father said, “While my son was doing extremely well in Bollywood till May 2019, a girl named Rhea Chakraborty and her family members and others got in touch with him so that she could use his contacts to make a career in the film industry,” according to the FIR.

The FIR report further said, “She along with her family members, namely Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty and Shauvik Chakraborty, started interfering in my son’s life”.

 “They even forced him to move out of the house he was living in, saying that some paranormal activities were going on there which had a big-time impact on my son’s mind. They forced him to live in a resort near Mumbai airport,” it added.

Earlier, Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14.

Indian police had confirmed that Sushant committed suicide, as he was found hanging from the ceiling. The 34-year-old actor was living alone at his residence in Mumbai during the lockdown, according to police. Indian media citing police said that Singh was suffering from depression for the past six months.

Born in Bihar’s Purnea, Rajput’s family moved to Patna when he was young. Later, he came to Delhi to study engineering but left the course mid-way to work in the showbiz.

Ekta Kapoor gave him the first break in TV in the show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, and then the led role in Pavitra Rishta. Sushant started his career through television and then moved towards Bollywood. His recent hit film was MS Dhoni.

Rajput was one of the bright stars of the younger generation. He has worked in films such as Kai Po Che, MS Dhoni biopic and Kedarnath. Rajput was a big TV star, thanks to popular show Pavitra Rishta, before venturing into films.
