The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) announced on Wednesday that Eidul Fitr is expected to be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Based on detailed astronomical calculations, scientific evaluations, and modern observational techniques, Suparco predicts a high likelihood of the Shawwal crescent being visible in Pakistan on the evening of March 30, 2025. This suggests that Ramadan is set to conclude after 29 days, with Eid festivities beginning the next day.
According to astronomical data, the new Moon for Shawwal will occur on March 29, 2025, at 3:58 PM PST. However, factors such as the crescent’s age, its position relative to the Sun, altitude at sunset, and weather conditions will determine its visibility.
