Grenada: Australia have confirmed just one change to their playing XI for the second Test against the West Indies, with veteran batter Steve Smith returning from injury to replace Josh Inglis.
The West Indies, meanwhile, will finalize their lineup at the toss, with fast bowler Anderson Phillip in contention.
Captain Pat Cummins confirmed that Smith had recovered well from a finger injury and would take his place in the side at the National Cricket Stadium. “He’s ready to go, the finger held up well,” Cummins said. “He was really happy, particularly with the bat.”
While Smith is set to play a full role with the bat, his fielding duties may be limited. Cummins indicated that Smith would likely avoid the slip cordon for fast bowlers.
“Fielding we still need to manage. You might see him running around a bit more, probably at mid-off or fine leg,” Cummins added.
