Even before its release, the new drama ‘Laapata’ became the most hyped serial of recent times mainly because of the wonderful cast and crew.
Produced by Momina Duraid, the star cast of Laapata includes Ayeza Khan, soon-to-be-mommy Sarah Khan, actor Ali Rehman, and Gohar Rasheed as the main leads.
The initial scenes from the first episode of the drama portray three cousins Falak, Shams, and Geeti. Falak, played by Sarah Khan, is a strong-headed girl, good in studies and sports and is very much in love with her cousin Shams, played by Ali Rehman, a gambling addict, who dreams big but earns less.
Then comes Geeti, played by Ayeza Khan, a TikToker who makes musical-oriented videos including songs. She will also be donning Mahira Khan’s Noori attires from her film Superstar. Another cast member Gohar, whose entry has not been revealed in the show yet is rumoured to essay a negative role.
The drama is written and directed by Khizer Idrees who already has films such as Verna, Superstar, and Zindagi Tamasha under his belt. A love triangle between Geeti, Shams, and Falak will be a treat to the eyes. The drama would be telecast weekly on Wednesday at 8 pm on HUM TV.
