Sri Lanka declare first innings for 308 runs against Pakistan

Rawalpindi: In the first test of two match series, Sri Lanka has declared first innings at 308/6 against Pakistan.

The Rawalpindi Test was heading towards a draw when Sri Lankan skipper declared the innings after 308/6.

Dhananjaya de Silva scored his sixth Test century, He was just 13 runs away at the start of day’s play to score the century.

Earlier, Day 3 and 4 of test match were abandoned without being bowled due to heavy rain in the city.

However, the weather forecast for Day 5 looks promising as it is expected to be sunny all day long.

The second Test is scheduled in Karachi from December 19.

The Test is the first in Pakistan since a militant attack on the Sri Lankan team bus killed eight people in March 2009.

Leading to the suspension of international cricket in the country as foreign teams refused to visit over security fears.
