Police said that during the assault, Ali Raza picked up a gas cylinder and struck Shaukat Ali on the head, resulting in the 70-year-old’s death on the spot.

The arrested suspect has been handed over to the Hanjarwal police station for further action, and investigations are currently underway.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred in a village on the outskirts of Gujrat district in Punjab, where an unruly son killed his fasting mother over a delay in breakfast.

The incident took place in Mararian village, under the jurisdiction of Industrial Estate 2 police station in Gujrat. A man allegedly killed his mother, who was observing a fast, for not preparing breakfast promptly.

According to police sources, the man, Usman Nawaz, asked his mother, Razia Bibi, to cook breakfast. She replied that she was fasting and needed to rest for a while, asking him to be patient.

Angered by the delay, the son struck his mother on the head with an iron rod, causing her to die on the spot.
