KECH: A student, named Hayat Baloch, was gunned down reportedly by Pakistan Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan’s Kech district four days ago.
According to details, Hayat Baloch, 25-year-old was a final year BSc Physiology student at Karachi University and a resident of Turbat. The tragic incident took place after a bomb attack on an FC convoy.
Reports suggested that after the attack, Pakistani forces cordoned off the nearby area and launched a search operation and entered the date orchard where he was working with his father.
Two FC men, one of them in plain clothes, took his son Hayat Mirza away, blindfolded him, and started beating. They dragged him to the nearby road and shot him eight to ten times, killing him on the spot.
A local newspaper reported that the district police had registered a murder case in this regard on the complaint of the victim’s brother Mohammad Murad Baloch.
Murad Baloch said in his complaint that he was on duty on Aug 13 when he was informed that his brother had been killed by the FC in the Absar area.
“My father and other people present on the occasion can identify the FC man who pumped eight bullets into the body of my brother,” Murad Baloch told police.
Meanwhile, the district police had arrested a soldier of the Frontier Corps on Thursday (August 16). The officials of the FC South handed over soldier Shahid Ullah to the Turbat police after conducting an internal inquiry.
Hayat Baloch’s murder has triggered a massive uproar on social media. The users took to social media to condemn the incident and demanded justice.
