NEW DELHI: The smog in India’s capital continues to choke citizens for the fifth-day consecutive day on Saturday.
The smog in New Delhi has increased the risk of premature deaths, lung cancer and particular danger to children from the tiny particles that get into the bloodstream and vital organs carried in the smog.
According to doctors, face masks must be worn and air purifiers should be used at home and in offices.

The increasing pollution is relatively blamed on industrial and car emissions mixed with stubble fires on thousands of farms surrounding the city that has been building up each winter for the past decade. The past five years have been particularly bad.
According to Indian media, the toxic air cuts short the lives of one million people in India every year.
Residents in Delhi have complained of burning eyes and throats. More than 500 flights have been delayed at Delhi airport due to the thick smog.
