Smart lockdown strategy leads to grand recovery of COVID19 patients: Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the government’s smart lockdown strategy led to the outstanding recovery of COVID-19 patients in the country.

On a social media website Tweeter, the President said that credit for this goes to pro-poor and intelligent government decisions and the people of Pakistan for mostly following directions and SOPs.

He also appreciated the nation’s recent approach to the COVID-19 pandemic and said “You have shown what a disciplined nation can do”.

A huge difference in approaches has led to outstanding recovery in Pakistan because of Smart Lockdowns.

President Arif Alvi also tagged the latest study graph showing a comparison of active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan and India.

The President urged the nation to must take care of Eidul Azha to finally continue on this track by remembering the SOPs, ensuring social distancing, washing hands and wearing face masks.

Earlier, Prime minister Imran Khan had announced in a televised address to the nation that a “smart lockdown” strategy would be imposed on certain hot spots across the country “as people’s indifference to the pandemic was jeopardizing the lives of old and chronically ill people.”

He emphasized in the speech that “strict monitoring would be done to ensure that people follow” guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), adding that the government would get tough on the violators and that all premises that caused the spread of the deadly virus would be sealed.
