In a horrifying incident in Sheikhupura District, the thumb of a young man, murdered by his cousin, was gruesomely severed and used to access his bank account and steal money from an ATM, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesperson, a team from the Housing Colony Police Station discovered the body of the victim, wrapped in a sack, while searching a suspicious car. Following the discovery, police launched an investigation, quickly using modern technology and human intelligence to identify the accused.
The investigation revealed that the accused, driven by greed, lured his cousin, Yasin, from Faisalabad to Sheikhupura, where he and his friends murdered him. Yasin was shot and one of his thumbs was severed in the process. The police confirmed that the thumb was later used to withdraw money from Yasin’s bank account via an ATM.
After committing the murder, the accused kept the chopped-off thumb of the deceased for withdrawal of the remaining amount in his bank account, the police said.
Police said Yasin’s dead body was placed in the trunk of a car for throwing into a canal. The deceased was the only son of his parents.
