Singer Asif Mehdi Hassan has been admitted to the hospital in Karachi.
The news was confirmed by his family members and requested fans to pray for his speedy recovery. According to his family, the son of legendary singer Mehdi Hassan was hospitalised after his condition deteriorated. The family said that Asif Mehdi used to visit the hospital for dialysis but had to be hospitalized after his pneumonia worsened.
They said that the singer is recuperating at the Special Care Unit of a private hospital and his condition is out of danger. Earlier this April, tabla player and Asif’s brother Arif Mehdi Hassan passed away in Karachi. Arif was the eldest son of Ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan.
He was a tabla player and an organiser in his father’s ensemble. He was the founding president of the Mehdi Hassan Foundation which was created after the death of Mehdi Hassan to provide support to the art of classical singing. According to his family sources, Arif has left behind two wives.
It was earlier reported that The family members of Shahenshah-e-Ghazal Mehdi Hassan are putting up with financial constraints and are forced to live a miserable life.
