The Sindh government’s College Education Department has issued the list of admissions to First Year in government colleges according to the new zone system.
Under the directions of Sindh’s Minister of Education, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Secretary of College Education Department, Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, supervised the issuance of the admission list for the academic year 2023 in coordination with the Chairman of Sindh Electronic Centralized Colleges Admission Program, Professor Shadab Hussain.
According to Director General Colleges Sindh, Professor Shadab Hussain, students have been allocated admission to colleges near their homes based on the merit of the respective zones they have chosen.
Deputy Secretary Rashid Ahmed Khoso provided details, stating that they received 93,000 applications this year. Based on these applications, 12,369 students were admitted to Pre-Engineering Boys, 5,376 to Pre-Engineering Girls, 5,287 to Pre-Medical Boys, and 19,153 to Pre-Medical Girls.
Likewise, in Computer Science, 11,174 boys and 6,607 girls were admitted, in Commerce, 9,507 boys and 9,126 girls, in Arts, 666 boys and 4,327 girls were admitted, and 262 students were admitted to the Home Economics college.
Rashid Ahmed Khoso mentioned that some students made mistakes in their admission forms, and they were sent correction forms online. Once they correct the errors in their forms, their admission will be finalized. He added that these admissions have been carried out in accordance with this year’s new policy.
He further stated that this year, like the previous one, students can enroll themselves online, and the admission form contains a QR code and an end date. If students fail to submit their forms before the specified end date, their admission will be canceled, and they can only apply once for admission this year.
