KARACHI: Sindh government has decided to launch a drive named ‘War against stray dogs’ due to dog-biting incidents in the province.
The provincial local government has approved the project that would indicate training staffers of the local councils to capture and sterilize the stray dogs.
Meanwhile, the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) will also be part of the project and would provide funding and technical support required for the designated drive.
Revealing details of the project, Secretary Local Government Roshan Ali Shaikh said, “We will be adopting procedures followed in the modern world to counter stray dogs.”

Over 92,000 dog bite cases have been reported across Sindh thus far this year.
Earlier, 6 years old boy Husnain Bughio, was attacked by 7 dogs in Larkana, inflicting severe injuries at his face.

The boy was taken to Larkana’s Chandka Medical Hospital where doctors refused to treat the child due to severe injuries. Later, he was brought to Karachi for being treated for his face wounds.
Meanwhile, residents of the affected area have asked the government to protect them from stray dogs.
