KARACHI: The Sindh government has reshuffled its cabinet and awarded different portfolios to lawmakers as ministers and advisers.
In the latest reshuffle, Agriculture minister Ismael Rahoo; Irrigation, zakat and auqaf minster Suhail Anwar Siyal; Food minister Ram Kishori; and Faraz Dero have been removed from their posts.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah has been appointed as Education Minister in place of Saeed Ghani. He also holds the portfolio of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities. Ghani holds the Ministry of Labour, Human Resources and Information.
Ismail Rahoo has been given the minister’s portfolio for Universities and Board, Environment and Coastal Development, Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman as revenue minister, Nasir Shah has been allotted Local Government, Housing, Town Planning and Public Engineering,
Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has been appointed as Industries & Commerce and Cooperation, Sajid Jokhio as Social Welfare, Gianchand Essarani has been given Minorities Affairs while Jam Khan Shoro has been allotted Irrigation and Zia Abbas has been given Works and Services.
The Sindh government has decided to retain Murtaza Wahab for the portfolio of adviser to CM on law and provincial government’s spokesperson.
Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani was given the portfolio of Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Prisons, Manzoor Wassan agriculture, Fayyaz Butt Zakat and Ushr, Rasul Bux Rehabilitation and Relief’s adviser.
In another development, the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah appointed five party leaders as his special assistant including Asif Khan from Keamari, Iqbal Sand from East, Ali Ahmed Jan from West, Salman Murad from Malir, Sagheer Qureshi from Hyderabad district, Arsalan Sheikh from Sukkur.
