KARACHI: The Sindh government has distributed the rations to the needy people who earn on daily wages during the lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus that has affected more than 1000 people across the country.
According to the details, on the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh government has constituted 440 service emergency parties (committees) consisting of 11,000 municipal employees who will deal with all kinds of situations and perform public service.
The task of providing the ration to the deserving citizens will be completed by the designated committees. These committees are comprised of employees of the district municipal, development and sovereign bodies of Karachi.
These teams are specifically designated for Karachi. According to sources, these committees will act as a force, each team consists of 25 members. The leader of each team will be a 16-grade government officer.
Committees will not include employees of the essential service. All the volunteer parties have been ordered to standby. These teams will also provide ration to the poor and deserving people affected due to the lockdown.
These teams have been formed under the guidance of the Chief Minister Sindh and the Municipality. The co-operation of the elected local representatives has not been received so far in any phase of the formation of the teams.
