The Sindh government has unveiled plans to introduce water sports activities for residents of the province at Keenjhar Lake in Thatta District.
Zulfiqar Shah, the Culture and Tourism Minister of Sindh revealed in a statement that water sports activities have commenced at Keenjhar Lake on a trial basis. He further announced that these activities, along with paragliding, will soon become regular features.
Last June, the Sindh government announced its intention to develop a world-class tourist center at Keenjhar Lake. A steering committee meeting, chaired by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, was convened to discuss this initiative. During the meeting, the Kuwait Investment Agency provided a presentation on the proposed modern resort.
Imtiaz Shaikh reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Keenjhar Lake into an appealing tourist destination, ensuring that it offers modern amenities to visitors. The briefing outlined that the modern resort will boast state-of-the-art facilities, attracting both domestic and international tourists.
Covering an area of 24 square kilometers, Keenjhar Lake is being carefully assessed to determine the most suitable location for the construction of the modern resort. Upon completion, this project is expected to generate significant revenue through tourism, both domestically and internationally.
