KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has ordered the evacuation of all public schools across the province from flood victims.
Secretary Education Sindh has written letters to all the Deputy Commissioners of the province, in which it has been said that the victims are staying in the schools due to which the education of the students is being affected, so the schools should be evacuated.
The letter states that lakhs of flood victims living in schools across the province should be shifted from educational institutions to tents.
Earlier, the Sindh government decided to resume academic activities in public sector schools situated in flood-affected areas across the province.
The education department together with district administration is setting up tent schools in relief camps made for the flood victims.
On Monday, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah inaugurated the first tent school in Umerkot. He said that the educational process of children will be resumed in the tent school. He expressed his determination that the education of the children affected from floods will not be harmed.
