LAHORE: A Milad ceremony will be held for the first time today at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the Sikh community.
Gurdwara Janam Asthan Shri Nankana Sahib will host Milad Mehfil for the first time today in celebration of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (Peace Be Upon Him).
According to details, the birth month of Prophet (PBUH) will be celebrated for the first time in the history of Pakistan under the management of Gopal Singh Chawla and Minhaj-ul-Quran Inter-Faith Harmony at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib.

Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din and other religious scholars will address the Milad ceremony. Sardar Gopal Singh Chawla, head of Punjabi Sikh Sangat, said that the Milad ceremony would be held at Gurdwara Sahib to promote inter-faith harmony in Pakistan.
It may be recalled that on the arrival of Rabiʽ al-Awwal in Nankana Sahib last year too, all the Gurdwaras including the Gurdwara Janam Asthan and the churches of the Christian community were also decorated with beautiful lighting. Along with the Sikh community, the Christian community also celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
The main procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Nankana Sahib will be warmly welcomed by the Sikh community when it reaches the birthplace of the Gurdwara. Flowers would be sprinkled on the participants of the procession. The Sikh community will also set up food stalls at various places.
