The official first look teaser for Rawalpindi Express – a Shoaib Akhtar biopic – has been released as UAE-based Q Film Productions announced the completion of the filming phase for the highly anticipated biographical film.
With this unexpected news comes a quick-paced teaser in which Mirza Gohar Rasheed assumes the lead role of the supposed Akhtar. The film’s title, Rawalpindi Express, is a tribute to Shoaib Akhtar’s cricketing moniker and his roots in Rawalpindi. The movie seeks to depict not only his cricketing accomplishments but also his personal successes and challenges. By bowling the fastest ball ever recorded in a World Cup game in 2003, Shoaib Akhtar accomplished a spectacular feat that increased the expectation for this movie.
