ISLAMABAD: A Station House Officer (SHO) is allegedly being pressured to release an arrested accused, a police officer, involved in the murder of a man in Rawalpindi’s Taxila, according to the victim’s brother.
Muhammad Safeer, a resident of the Sangjani area of district Taxila, told M.M News that his brother, Tanveer Akhtar, was murdered two months ago by some influential people over a personal dispute.
“Later, I filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the district police station against three people, in which one of them was a police officer belonging to federal capital’s police” he added.
Muhammad Safeer further informed that the involvement of an Islamabad police officer was confirmed after a geo-fencing report. “In this regard, the newly appointed SHO Taj Gul along with his team arrested the main accused Asad,” he informed.
The victim’s brother also said that the remaining accused, due to their influence, have started pressurizing the SHO Taxila to release the arrested accused.
Muhammad Safeer has appealed to RPO and CPO Rawalpindi to take notice of the pressure on SHO and arrest the remaining killers of his brother. “All these accused should be severely punished according to law,” he demanded.
