Indian director Shekhar Kapoor has revealed the reason behind casting Pakistani actress Sajal Aly for the ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’ movie.
Recently the director of the film Shekhar Kapoor revealed the reason for choosing Sajal Aly in ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’ in an interview and said, “Sajal Aly was recommended then she sent her auditions, her eyes have innocence and depth in it.

He added, “She’s obviously very beautiful, whenever she comes on screen we hear and see her, she’s beautiful. According to Kapoor, Aly’s performance has pain and strength.
As per Kapoor, he said to her, that one of the things they want from her is don’t portray herself as weak. “Show yourself strong, you are gentle and you are shy, show that you have the strength and if you will watch the film you could easily find that,” he said.

Produced and written by Jemima Goldsmith, the movie has been directed by Indian director Shekhar Kapoor. ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’ has an ensemble cast that includes Lily James as Zoe, Shazad Latif as Kazim, Shabana Azmi as Aisha Khan, Emma Thompson as Cath, Sajal Aly as Zoya, Oliver Chris, Asim Chaudhry and Rahat Fateh Ali.
