RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has given a cryptic message in his traditional style, saying that the ‘countdown will begin on January 9, and will end in April’. He predicted that the Supreme Court would soon announce its verdicts in cases related to NAB laws amendments and overseas’ voting rights.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Sheikh Rashid said the murder case of Arshad Shari had gotten pace in the Supreme Court. Arshad Sharif was shot dead on October 23 in the outskirts of Kenyan capital Nairobi which was initially described by local police as a case of mistaken identity but was later declared as targeted murder by Pakistan’s investigative agencies as well as local media in Kenya.

Referring to political situation in Punjab, Sheikh Rashid said the the PTI Chief Imran Khan would dissolve the provincial assembly or else, would ask his lawmakers to quit.
He urged upon the present PMLN-led rulers rulers to bring their wealth, stashed abroad in the foreign accounts, back to Pakistan for the sake of the national security.

Commenting on upcoming visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Geneva to co-host a climate conference, he said: “Sharif brothers would decide about their political future instead of seeking help for flood victims in Geneva”. His statement came as reports suggest that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz have already reached Geneva for treatment and they are expected to meet Shehbaz Sharif.
He also lashed out at Pakistan Peoples Party leaders, saying those who had already looted the public wealth were not minting money by “using the names of disable persons on the Sindh motorway”. He also announced to address a gathering at his residence at 3pm.
