KARACHI: Sindh High Court has extended the hearing of a petition filed against Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh till 11th February.
SHC judge Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar conduced the hearing of notice issued to the federal as well as the provincial chief law officers revert to a petition that sought constitution of a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh’s alleged links with criminal elements.
The judge asked a copy of the petition to respondents so they can file their response.
The court directed the petitioner to present arguments on the maintainability of his petition on the next hearing.
Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh is accused of allegedly using criminal connections to maintain his political position in Shikarpur.
According to the records, he also tried to influence the police through criminal elements.
