KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon has severely criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and its chairman Imran Khan, calling on PTI supporters to “open their eyes” and “get rid of liar like Imran Khan.”
In a statement on Monday, Sharjeel Memon accused Imran Khan of being mentally ill and having an “aim only enmity with Pakistan.” He also accused Imran Khan of starting a “heinous campaign” against General ® Bajwa before ending his government in two provinces.
He was reacting to a recent interview by Imran Khan in which he claimed that several PMLN-led government leaders and former Army Chief Gen Bajwa were daring him to dissolve Punjab and KP assemblies to hold general elections. However, when he did so, they all allegedly ran away.
“Why did Imran end Punjab and KP governments on Mr. Bajwa’s advice?” Memon questioned. “All the words of Imran Khan show that he was fooling the entire nation, and nothing of this person can be trusted.”
The PPP leader went on to describe the interviews as a “charge sheet” against the prime minister and accused him of running a campaign based on “100 percent lies.”
This recent hurling of accusations by the PPP leaders ahead of their grand political dialogues on SC directives has sparked concern about the success of the proposed parleys, as well as has drawn mixed reactions from the public. While some people support Memon’s statements, others have criticized him for using such aggressive language.
