PESHAWAR: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s Pakistani cousin Noor Jahan, passed away in Peshawar, her family confirmed on Tuesday.
The younger brother of Noor Jehan, Mansoor Ahmed, confirmed the news of her death, claiming she had fought cancer for a certain period. Noor Jehan, a paternal cousin of the popular Indian movie star, lived in Mohallah Shah Wali Qataal area near the Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar.

Her death was also confirmed by Mian Zulfiqar, a former member of the town council and Noor Jehan’s neighbour in Peshawar.
Having recently worked as a district and town councilor, Noor Jehan was politically involved and even submitted nomination papers for the seat of the provincial assembly (PK-77) in the July 2018 general elections before withdrawing at the last minute.
Noor Jahan claimed to have met her celebrity cousin at least twice, with her family keeping close touch with the relatives across the border. Shah Rukh Khan also visited her family in Peshawar with his parents twice during his young age.
