Versatile actress Shagufta Ejaz, who appeared in numerous hit drama serials, has compared old actors with new ones.
The actress appeared in the TV Show Gup Shab hosted by Vasay Chaudhary. In the show, she talked about the professionalism of old actors vs the new actors and gave her opinion on the latest trends in the drama industry.
Talking about it, Shagufta Ijaz said that the old actors had tolerance, but the new actors lacked tolerance levels. “We had perfection in our craft, now actors don’t have that perfection and maturity,” she said.
She added, “Today’s actors have achieved a lot of success and financial stability in a very short period of time, they got everything and we spent decades in achieving that success.”
She continued that in old times, actors used to take work as a priority, their focus was on craft, and they didn’t have many distractions.
The actors used to focus on performance rather than sets and ambiance.
She further said that Pakistani dramas once started copying Indian dramas and are somehow still under that influence. She said that she wants the original PTV-style classic dramas back.
On the work front, Shagufta Ejaz is currently shooting for her upcoming drama serial in Lahore in which she will be playing the character of a Sikh woman.
