BAHAWALPUR: More than 40 shops have been burned after a fire broke out at a plaza at Circular Road, citing rescue sources.
According to details, the fire erupted due to a ‘short circuit’ at the plaza located at Circular Road Bahawalpur. As a result, shops on the ground and first floors of the plaza were completely gutted while others were partially damaged. Fire brigade staff doused the fire after hours of struggle and the cooling process was underway.
Earlier this month, a fire engulfed Karachi’s Teen Hatti. As a result of the fire, 300 huts became a pile of ashes while 5 people were injured due to burns. According to the details, heavy damage was caused as a result of a terrible fire in the huts located under the three Hatti bridges.
Considering the severity of the fire, KMC dispatched 9 fire tenders to douse the fire. Firefighters succeeded in dousing the fire after a struggle of 2 hours. Difficulties were encountered in reaching the huts under the bridge.
Fire brigade officials said that the cause of the fire could not be known. Some of the victims claimed to have heard the sound of cylinders exploding before the fire started, while some other victims expressed other concerns. Some people also blamed the police for setting the fire.
