Selena Gomez marked Taylor Swift’s 34th birthday with a heartwarming Instagram Story featuring a fresh snapshot of the superstar friends. In the mirror selfie, Swift is affectionately kissing Gomez’s head.
Gomez captioned the image with warm wishes: “Happy birthday to the goddess that is @TaylorSwift,” and added a heartfelt “I love you” over the picture.
From their attire in the photo — Swift in a plaid miniskirt and olive-green ribbed sweater, and Gomez in a matching snakeskin miniskirt and jacket paired with a black turtleneck — it appears the picture was taken during their Friday night outing to Ramy Youssef’s comedy show in Brooklyn, attended by Zoe Kravitz, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Cara Delevingne.

Swift, in celebration of her own birthday, surprised fans with the digital release of her Eras Tour film on the same day. In an Instagram post, she shared, “I had the time of my life fighting dragons with youuuu. Celebrate 34 with me by watching The Eras Tour (Extended Version) including ‘Long Live,’ ‘The Archer,’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’ at home!” Swift ended her message, which featured emojis for each song title, by playfully stating, “PS troll me all you want about my excessive and literal millennial emoji use but A) no one’s prouder to be a millennial and B) it’s my bday and today I am exempt!”
Meanwhile, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Swift’s home state of Pennsylvania called on her devoted Swiftie fanbase to donate $13 in honor of their idol’s birthday to support animal shelters. The caption read, “To honor Taylor and to help animal shelters everywhere who have had a particularly hard year we created this challenge to support not only our lifesaving mission, but efforts across the country.”
