The Sindh Home Department has imposed Section 144 in Karachi, effective from October 13 to 17, prohibiting public gatherings, protests, and political activities.
The notification, issued by the provincial home department, restricts assemblies of more than five people.
According to the order, rallies, processions, and demonstrations are strictly prohibited during the five-day period. However, the notification does not provide a reason for the imposition of Section 144 or explain the necessity of restricting political activities.
The sudden imposition of Section 144 has raised questions among citizens and political leaders. While authorities have not disclosed the rationale behind this decision, speculation suggests it may be related to maintaining law and order or preventing potential unrest.
The restrictions will be in place from October 13, 12:00 am, to October 17, 11:59 pm. The Sindh Home Department has advised citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and respect the ban on public gatherings.
Law enforcement officials have been directed to strictly enforce the restrictions, ensuring compliance with the Section 144 order. Violators will face legal action under the relevant laws.
The imposition of Section 144 has affected various events and activities scheduled during this period. Organizers have been forced to postpone or cancel their plans.
Citizens are advised to stay informed about the latest developments and follow official guidelines.
