KARACHI: Citizens of Karachi will face another round of hot weather beginning Thursday after a short respite earlier this week, the Meteorological Department said.
According to the latest forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the weather in the city is likely to remain hot and humid for the next two to three days.
The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.7 degrees Celsius, which is close to the seasonal normal of 35.7 degrees Celsius. However, the Met Office has warned that temperatures are expected to rise above normal to 36 degrees Celsius on Friday. Despite the heat, sea breezes will continue to blow, which will bring some relief to the citizens.
Earlier this week, temperatures dropped due to the revival of sea breezes, which gave Karachi a break from the heatwave conditions that had gripped it for nearly a month. The exam is expected again.
On the other hand, contrary to the forecast of Karachi, there has been a significant decrease in heat in the upper regions of the country due to rain. It rained in various cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which broke the heat.
Thunderstorms and hot weather are expected to prevail over the upper and central regions of Pakistan, PMD said on Monday. The areas that will benefit from this change include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Diamer, Astor, Wadi Neelam, Muzaffarabad, Murree, Guliyat, Quetta and Zhob.
