ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that complete lockdown is harmful to developing and developed countries.
Addressing a meeting of the SCO Summit through a video link, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that more than 50 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in the world and the global economy has been badly affected by the coronavirus.
He said the global economy was slowing down and joint efforts were needed to tackle coronavirus. Over the past two decades, the SCO has achieved many successes and the SCO’s influence has grown.
The prime minister said that Pakistan not only appreciates China’s efforts against the coronavirus but also appreciates Chinese assistance. “Pakistan and China are also working on trials of the coronavirus vaccine,” the premier maintained.
He said that complete lockdown is detrimental to developing and developed countries. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on members to work out a joint strategy to deal with coronavirus.

Addressing a video conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the world was at risk of the coronavirus, which is why the video link meeting was taking place. He said that the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should formulate a joint strategy to deal with coronavirus, while the SCO members should work together for border security.
