KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education Saeed Ghani has confirmed that the schools across the province will reopen from Monday i.e. 1st February.
As per the Sindh government, the examination for the matriculation and intermediate students will be held as scheduled and the new academic year will begin from 2nd August.
Saeed Ghani made the announcement after chairing a session of the Sindh Education Department’s steering committee which deliberated upon the reopening of schools and universities after a months-long closure of educational institutions amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The examinations of the 9th and 10th classes will be started from 1st July. The exams of intermediate students will be commenced from 28th July. The committee has decided to conduct examinations of matric students from 1st July to 15th July, whereas, the results will be released till 15th September.

Ghani said that practicals will be organised in schools and colleges while the administration of the educational centres will send the results to the concerned boards.
Earlier in the day, Federal Minister for Education and National History and Literary Heritage, Shafqat Mahmood had reiterated that primary classes and universities will be reopened from 1st February.
