KARACHI: Supreme Court has accepted the unconditional apology of Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab after ordering his removal from the post in the Gutter Baghicha case.
Murtaza Wahab expressed regret before the SC bench. “I apologise to the court,” Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin, a member of the bench remarked “We have removed you,” and added that the post of administrator demands impartiality.
During the hearing, advocate general Sindh requested the SC bench to accept an unconditional apology of Murtaza Wahab. Later, CJP Justice Gulzar Ahmed, while accepting Wahab’s apology ordered him to refrain from politics while being the administrator.
Earlier on Monday morning, the Gutter Baghicha case was heard in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry during which Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed expressed outrage over Murtaza Wahab’s provocation in the courtroom.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed ordered Murtaza Wahab to leave the courtroom immediately and told him to leave. The court remarked that Murtaza Wahab is not eligible for Administrator Karachi. He also directed the Sindh chief minister to immediately appoint another administrator in place of Murtaza Wahab. Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that Murtaza Wahab was acting as a politician instead of an administrator.
