The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has issued nine essential guidelines to help female pilgrims visit these holy sites with respect and ease. The guidelines were shared via an infographic on the Authority’s official account on X (formerly Twitter).
Female pilgrims are encouraged to follow specific practices in the prayer areas, including wearing modest Islamic attire, cooperating with mosque staff, refraining from sitting or sleeping on the floors and maintaining proper alignment in prayer rows.
Other recommendations emphasize cleanliness, such as avoiding food and drink in prayer spaces, minimizing noise, and ensuring shoes are removed to protect the carpets. Pilgrims are also advised to safeguard their belongings by not leaving them unattended.
These new rules aim to preserve the sanctity of the sacred spaces and create a peaceful and respectful environment for all visitors.
Millions of Muslims from across the world visit the holy mosques in Makkah and Madian every year, especially in the Hajj season.
