LAHORE: The former women’s captain Sana Mir has opted out of a position in the new management committee, choosing, instead, to focus on her role with FICA and as a broadcaster.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, she expressed gratitude for being selected by the PCB management, however, expressed her inability to participate.
It is very humbling to be named in the PCB mgmt com🙏🏼.I would like to express my gratitude to all decision makers & everyone around the world who congratulated me.For now,I'll not be able to participate as I look fwd to contribute through my independent voice in FICA & thru comm.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi, too, has declined the offer to be part of the committee as he remains occupied with the work of his charity foundation.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif had approved the appointment of Najam Sethi as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, and constituted a 13-member committee headed by Najam Sethi to repeal the 2019 constitution, restoring the constitution of 2014. The committee had included, among others, Sana Mir and Shahid Afridi, who both decided not to become part of the new management.
