A long wait for the Rolling Stones’ fans is over as the rock band has announced a new album, their first studio collection of original material in 18 years.
The band, consisting of the core trio of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, and Keith Richards, published information about the album, Hackney Diamonds, on social media. On Wednesday, Jimmy Fallon will interview the band about the release.
They shared the news with the message: “New album, new music, new era,” and a short video skit showing Fallon receiving a call on his “Stones phone” to summon him to the UK capital.
East London’s Hackney will serve as the location for the interview with the American chat show host, which will be live streamed worldwide on their YouTube site.

A Bigger Bang, the Rolling Stones’ last original album, was published in 2005. Blue & Lonesome, their last studio album, which featured blues covers, was released in 2016.
The band first teased their new music online and by placing an advert in the local paper – the Hackney Gazette.
The advert for Hackney Diamonds featured lyrics from the band’s best-known hits, and included a website and a phone number which takes you through to a recorded message.
The Rolling Stones formed in the early 1960s and have had eight number one singles in the UK including (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Paint It, Black and Honky Tonk Women.
In 1989 the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by The Who’s Pete Townshend.
