LAHORE: The Punjab food department has sealed a restaurant in Lahore after a video of a dead rat’s meat inside a shawarma sandwich went viral on social media.
As per details, a citizen, Saleh Saleem posted the video of the shawarma containing the dead rat’s meat served in Restaurant and said that his 10-year-old niece was about to have the Middle Eastern dish.
“These people are playing with the lives of people and also have the audacity to argue about it,” Saleh said in his post which has been shared over 3,000 times.
Saleh’s mother can be heard taunting the waiters in the video, “Do you consider us humans? Are you Muslims or not? Who is the manager or owner of this?”
Saleh thanked the food department officials for taking swift action and sealing the cafe. According to the officials, the food safety teams under the supervision of food safety officers held crackdown for restaurants out the unhygienic food processing units and food points along with adulterators especially.
They said that a team of PFA paid visits to Bundu Khan Restaurant, located at Gulberg, for measuring the food safety issues but the restaurant’s administration failed to maintain the food standards and due to this reason authority sealed it immediately.
