RAWALPINDI: City Development Authority (RDA) has requested the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to proceed against the owners and sponsors of illegal and unapproved housing schemes to protect the general public from financial losses.
Chairman RDA Tariq Mahmood Murtaza, in the letter, has informed the accountability watchdog about the massive fraud and deception of the housing society with the citizens of Rawalpindi.
Tariq Mahmood also highlighted the authority’s operations against the illegal housing society in the letter. “We have conducted several operations this year against the illegal housing society, by stopping illegal constructions and sealing the site offices of illegal societies,” the letter added.
“Every possible effort, including the removal of banners and billboards of illegal housing society, are being made to protect the common man from these corrupt elements,” the letter informed.
The owners and sponsors of the illegal housing schemes have been warned of strict action if the marketing of the illegal housing schemes is not stopped, it added.
Chairman RDA requested the accountability bureau to take legal action against this illegal ‘Blue World’ housing society as the management of the society has sold a large number of plots illegally without any approval of the concerned authority regarding the ownership of the land.
