Actor Osman Khalid Butt has expressed that he is upset as Prime Minister Imran Khan once again blamed women for causing rape in the country instead of addressing the actual way to protect women of the country.
In a recent interview, PM Khan said, “If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on the men, unless they are robots. It’s just common sense.” He also stated that this was ‘cultural imperialism’, where people expected the views in every part of the world to be the same.
The interviewer even asked PM Khan about his own life, and said that in his younger days, Khan was known as a “playboy”. To this, Khan said that that was his personal life, and the views of his people are different.
However, the actor did not like what the prime minister stated. Butt took to Twitter and wrote, “Is it [a woman wearing very few clothes] really going to provoke acts of sexual violence?”It depends on which society you live in! If that isn’t a damning indictment of our society I don’t know what is.”
Of course men aren’t robots. Yes, there is desire, temptation, attraction.
Rape isn’t caused by this. Rape is about power. Dominance, a complete lack of empathy, hostility. It diminishes a woman – or a man, or a child – to a sexual object. It is dehumanizing.

The Chupke Chupke actor also admitted that men are indeed not robots. “Yes, there is desire, temptation, attraction. Rape isn’t caused by this. Rape is about power. Dominance, a complete lack of empathy, hostility. It diminishes a woman – or a man, or a child – to a sexual object. It is dehumanizing,” the actor tweeted.
Many social media users have mixed reactions to his tweet. Some of them agreed and some of them did not. Let’s have a look:
It doesn’t matter what we are wearing, or where in the World we are, we still get cat-called, we still get assaulted.

I’ve seen and heard cases where woman fully covered have been groped, cat called. Honestly no matter how much covered the woman is , if the people are not given the right education, this won’t stop. Saying that sexual violence happens bec of what we wear,is justifying the crime.

Dear brother @aClockworkObi don’t forget that all evil acts begin from sight and way of ideology. If you pointed at our society then checkout about rapes and street crimes ratio in western countries where women are having free will in all ways possible, but still become victims.

Matlab kaptaan sahab ne awaam ko sar-e-aam beizzat kar diya .. aur logo ko pata bhi nahi chala ki woh kehna kya chahtay the
It is indeed the fault of our own society for being as regressive & patriarchal as it is
AND.. it is our responsibility to change our regressive ways
