KARACHI: The administration of Sindh University (SU) has reportedly included a question related to the Ahmadiyya community in the pre-entry test for admissions to M.Phil in 13 disciplines of Social and Natural Sciences Faculties.
Students were required to get 40 marks, out of 100 marks of a set of MCQs (multiple-choice questions) based on their respective field, to qualify for admissions. One of the MCQs was related to Ahmadiyya community’s book.
According to the test paper obtained by M.M News, the administration asked who wrote the Tafsirat-e-Ahmadiyya. The options include Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, Ghulam Ahmad Pervez, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Mullah Jeewan.
The move has drawn severe criticism from the students and the religious authorities. Social media users are demanding action against the authority of Sindh University of Jamshoro.
When contacted in this regard, Vice-Chancellor of Sindh University Dr Siddique Kalhoro did not receive the phone call.
Sindh University Testing Center (SUTC) conducted entrance test for admissions to M. Phil in English Linguistics, English Literature, business Administration, Commerce, Islamic Culture, Urdu, Sindhi, Public Administration, Economics, Sociology, Muslim History, Criminology, International Relations, Political Science, Psychology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry at the respective departments.
According to the Directorate Research and Graduate Studies, more than 900 candidates participated in the entrance test to try their luck for admissions.
