Eidul Adha is approaching, and those planning to perform Qurbani (sacrifice) are on the lookout for a Qasai (butcher). While it might seem straightforward, finding a suitable and affordable butcher can be quite challenging.
In Karachi, butchers have already released their price lists for slaughtering sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eidul Adha. This year, as in previous years, the rates for slaughtering and butchering animals have significantly increased.
According to the Meat Merchants Association, the cost for slaughtering a cow on the first day of Eid will be Rs20,000, while sacrificing a goat will cost Rs10,000. For those choosing to slaughter a camel, the fee is set at Rs40,000.
Nadeem Qureshi, a representative of the Meat Merchants Association, stated that the rates for the second and third days of Eid will be significantly reduced, dropping to nearly half of the initial day’s prices.
Moreover, Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi has announced the establishment of 22 cattle markets across seven districts in preparation for Eidul Adha 2024.
This year, Eidul Adha falls on June 17 (Monday).
