Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule continues its box office dominance, showing no signs of slowing down after nearly two weeks in theaters following a blockbuster opening.
According to a report by Indian Express on Tuesday, since its release on December 5, the film has been breaking records, with the latest update revealing it has surpassed the Rs 900 crore net mark at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 27.75 crore on its second Monday (day 12), marking its lowest single-day collection so far. Despite this, the film’s overall performance remains exceptional.
By the end of its first week, Pushpa 2: The Rule had grossed Rs 725.8 crore and continued strong with Rs 63.3 crore on Saturday and Rs 76.6 crore on Sunday. Its 12-day India total has now reached an impressive Rs 929.85 crore. The film’s occupancy also remained high, with 24.11% for Telugu and 21.26% for Hindi on Monday.
Worldwide, Pushpa 2 has crossed Rs 1400 crore, securing its place among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films. According to its production house, Mythri Movie Makers, the film’s gross earnings reached Rs 1409 crore by day 11 and is expected to enter the Rs 1500 crore club soon. The film had the best-ever opening for an Indian film, earning Rs 165 crore net in India and Rs 294 crore worldwide on its first day. It also surpassed Stree 2, Gadar 2, Animal, and Jawan to become the top second-week grosser at the Hindi box office.
Notably, Pushpa 2 became the fastest Hindi film to cross Rs 500 crore net, surpassing Jawan’s previous record. Its Hindi total now stands at Rs 573.1 crore, and it is on track to become India’s top Hindi film in under three weeks. As of day 12, Pushpa 2 has outpaced the lifetime earnings of RRR (Rs 1230 crore) and KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), becoming the third-biggest grosser in India.
Directed by Sukumar, the film brings Allu Arjun back as the gangster Pushpa Raj, clashing with his enemy Bhairon Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). Rashmika Mandanna stars as the female lead. With its global box office performance, Pushpa 2 is poised to challenge records set by Baahubali 2 and Dangal.
