LAHORE: Vaccination of cattle herds has begun in Punjab to deal with the fear of a second wave of lumpy skin.
According to details, the vaccination was started by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi while inspecting the lumpy skin vaccination used in the campaign. A detailed briefing was given to the Chief Minister on lumpy skin.
Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while talking on the occasion of the start of vaccination said that the provincial government gave a grant of one and a half billion for lumpy skin vaccination. A massive six million meals have been provided.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the dose was provided to effectively control lumpy skin. Livestock farmers will be dosed free of charge by visiting their homes. We have bought the vaccine cheaper than in other provinces.
Highlighting the statistics, he said that there are more than two and a half million cattle and more than 2.84 million buffaloes in Punjab. The share of livestock in the national GDP is 14.1 percent while agriculture accounts for 63 percent.
Researchers say that animals suffering from lumpy skin suffer from skin nodules and fever, stop eating and drinking, produce less smoke, weakness, and itching that can lead to the death of the diseased animal.
