Lahore: The Punjab government has relaxed the school uniform policy during the winter season.
According to media, the Punjab Education Department has issued a notification regarding the relaxation. As per the notification, the revised policy will be applicable immediately to all public and private schools. Students are now allowed to wear jackets, sweaters, coats, socks, and shoes of any color.
The notification states that this relaxation will remain in effect until February 28, 2025. The decision has been made to ensure the comfort and safety of students during the cold weather.
Following a decrease in smog levels, the school timings in Punjab have been revised once again. A notification has been issued stating that from December 4, schools will open at 8:15 AM.
Earlier, due to smog in various districts, including Lahore, school timings were changed on November 18, with schools opening at 8:45 AM. However, this has now been revised.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency, the new school timings will be implemented immediately.
All public and private schools are required to open after 8:15 AM starting December 4, 2024. The notification has been issued under the Environmental Protection Act of 1997.
