Three dacoits were killed during two police encounters in different places of Punjab.
In the first encounter, two dacoits were killed in Sahiwal. The police encounter took place in Saho Morr Chak No 79/L in the jurisdiction of Yousafwala Police Station located in Sahiwal.
Crime Control Department (CCD) sources said that a police party led by SHO Waqas Ahmad cordoned off the area after receiving credible information about the presence of four most-wanted dacoits.
After taking notice of the police party, the dacoits started firing at the police party.
During heavy exchange of firing, two dacoits received serious bullet wounds and died on the spot.
The dead dacoits were identified as Aitmad alias Ali Haider, son of Nazir Ahmad, caste Baloch, and resident of 96/L Sahiwal. The accused was involved in 25 criminal cases and was a police record-holder.
The second dacoit was identified as Awais Farooq, son of Farooq was a resident of Mamukanjan, Faisalabad. The dacoit was the son of a notorious dacoit and wanted by police in more than 50 criminal cases.
In the second encounter, a most-wanted dacoit was killed in Okara’s Pir Di Hatti area.
The police intercepted the dacoits who were riding a motorcycle and signaled them to stop, after which they started firing at the police.
During heavy exchange of firing, one dacoit was killed and his two colleagues fled away from the scene.
According to Crime Control Department (CCD) sources, in a dacoity attempt in Mamukanjan, the dacoit injured three children, and later, one child died.
The dead dacoit was also involved in sixteen criminal cases, including murder and attempted murder.
