Lahore: The Punjab Health Department has conducted a major operation in Dera Ghazi Khan, recovering government medicines worth Rs 1.7 billion that had been stolen.
According to the spokesperson for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, a drug control team raided the Sarwar Wali Rural Health Center, seizing the stolen medicines.
The spokesperson confirmed that three storekeepers involved in the theft have been arrested.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir condemned the theft, stating, “The theft of government medicines will not be tolerated. The Chief Minister’s vision is clear: these medicines are the right of the underprivileged, and no one will be allowed to exploit them. Strict action will be taken against those responsible without any discrimination.”
