MURREE: The Punjab government has ordered the Murree administration to temporarily shut down the city for tourism due to the coronavirus.
The official position in this regard said that Murree is a tourist destination where people from all over the country go on vacation. The decision to close a tourist destination like Murree was taken as a precaution against the coronavirus.
Recognizing the move to close Murree for two weeks, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said that he requested everyone not to engage in any activity outdoor for 14 days.
The Murree administration in this regard has issued orders to close all business centers at night which somehow triggered a wave of concern among tourists and local businesses.
On the other hand, the tourists who were staying in Murree were asked to evacuate the hotels and places they were living in by the morning.
According to the locals living there, such fears would not be spread in Murree. One of the locals described that such measures taken by the Murree administration and social organizations were inadequate.
Although there has no case of the coronavirus been detected yet in the city and no patient had been exposed but still, the administration has is taking a positive measure to prevent Murree from the virus.
