Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has announced that the distribution of E-bikes will begin on July 10.
The Punjab government launched the project on April 12 as part of the Chief Minister Youth Initiative, aiming to provide 20,000 bikes.
According to CM Maryam Nawaz, students can purchase motorbikes and e-bikes through simple monthly installment plans. Female students can avail of the deal for Rs 7,325 per month, while male students can opt for Rs 11,676 per month.
In metropolitan regions, half of the quota will be reserved for male and female students. In rural areas, 30% of the quota will be allocated to female students and 70% to male students.
Speaking in the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, the Chief Minister announced that her government would relaunch the laptop program with a budget of 10 billion rupees. She also mentioned plans to enroll out-of-school children.
Regarding healthcare, she stated that public hospitals provide free medical care and medications to patients.
