The Punjab government has enforced Section 144 in preparation for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), following directives from the provincial authorities.
The Punjab Home Department issued an official notification detailing the restrictions that will be in place across 12 cities on Sunday, September 22, during the entrance exam.
According to the Punjab Home Department spokesperson, Section 144 will be implemented in key cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Strict measures will be in effect to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. Only registered candidates and authorized supervisory staff will be allowed entry into the examination centers. The movement of unrelated individuals within a 100-yard radius of the centers will be restricted, as outlined in the notification.
In addition to movement restrictions, the carrying of weapons, mobile phones, digital devices, books, and guides will be strictly prohibited in and around the exam venues. This step has been taken to prevent any disruptions or cheating during the test.
The notification further emphasized that any form of protests or demonstrations near the examination centers will not be tolerated, and individuals will be prohibited from causing disturbances or engaging in any unfair practices. These measures aim to ensure a fair and secure environment for all MDCAT candidates during the testing process.
