The Punjab government has decided to recruit three thousand nurses to address shortages in hospitals across the province. A notification in this regard has been issued. The provincial government has also decided to provide maximum facilities in hospitals.
The Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department (SHC&MED) has decided to recruit 3,000 nurses (female) regularly. In a letter to the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), the SHC&MED states that the department intends to recruit 3,000 charge nurses (BS-16)/ Batch-2024, including all quotas, regularly. In this regard, it attached a duly filled requisition as per the prescribed PPSC form along with relevant documents. The SHC&MED requested that it be processed on a top-priority basis and that recommendations for selected candidates be made in accordance with the rules and policy.
The Punjab Public Service Commission will release newspaper advertisements to recruit nurses on an open and quota basis. Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the recruitment of 3,000 nurses is a very welcome initiative.
